Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play prices drop
You may have wanted to get the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play, but it may have been too expensive for you. Thankfully, the prices have significantly dropped, which will now allow you to get the only PlayStation-certified smartphone in the market.
Amazon is selling the gaming handset online for £332, which includes a 16 GB microSD card. Expansys has priced it at £289 SIM free. Carphone Warehouse is now selling the phone for £299. With these prices, will you still get one from O2 for £519?
Why the big price drop? Paying less than £300 for a Gingerbread-powered handset that comes with console-like controls, a 4 inch touch screen, a 1 GHz single-core processor seems too good to be true. It’s either the retailers have a lot in stock, or they are getting ready for another smartphone to launch.
When the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play was officially announced, everyone wanted one. Unfortunately, when it went out, it turned out to be disappointing. True, it came with its own dedicated console controls, but there were only 30 games available to the smartphone. It did not give users access to the PlayStation Suite. Now is a different story. There are now more games to choose from specifically designed for the Play.
Now that the prices have dropped and there is a wider selection of games, will you get one? Let us know what you think.
