A photo of a mysterious 4.8-inch Samsung front panel has been sent to Know Your Mobile, which belongs to an unannounced handset. The front panel could belong to the US network Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S3, or it could be the front panel of Samsung’s new Windows Phone 8 device.
Judging from the picture, the display could be 4.8-inches. It could also house the S3’s 4.8-inch display, but the panel appears to be black. Samsung’s new flagship is available in pebble blue and white variants. So the colour black suggests that this is a different device. Furthermore, it sports a bigger bottom lip compared to the S3. So it could be a Windows Phone handset.
Do you think this is a black Samsung Galaxy S3 headed to Verizon US, or do you think this Samsung’s first Windows Phone 8 handset? Share your opinion through a comment.

And what’s this? The Samsung Galaxy S2 now has a little brother. On Flickr, an official press photo of the Samsung Illusion has just surfaced.
The new smartphone is expected to be a mid-ranged smartphone. The phone is said to come packed with an 800 MHz processor under the hood. It will either sport a 5 megapixel or a 3.2 megapixel camera. It will offer 3G connectivity as well as Wi-Fi.
The phone is eco-friendly. It is said to have received the Green Certificate of Sustainable Product Certification. It has been awarded this certification by a renowned US-based establishment, Underwriters Laboratories. Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a “global independent safety science company offering expertise across five key strategic businesses: Product Safety, Environment, Life & Health, University and Verification Services. Our breadth, established objectivity and proven history mean we are a symbol of trust and enable us to help provide peace of mind to all.”
Other than these specs and the phone being carried by Verizon in the US, this is all we can tell you about this mysterious smartphone. However, we’re sure more news on the smartphone will be leaked or officially released soon. We’ll keep you posted once we know more.

In a recent video by Verizon Wireless, a mysterious tablet was featured. Is this tablet the successor of the Motorola Xoom? The featured tablet did not have the Motorola logo, and it made use of a different camera compared to the current version of the Xoom. It does look like the rumored Xoom 2 in development, which is powered by the Kal-El quad-core processor.

- Is this the Motorola Xoom 2?
This was a clearly a mistake on Verizon’s part. After the video rolled out on YouTube, its status was quickly changed to private. This slip has led users to believe that this is indeed the rumored quad-core Motorola Xoom. If this is the rumored tablet, then are we to see it anytime soon? We certainly hope so.
The 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is scheduled to hit Verizon soon. However, it is obvious that this was not the tablet featured in the video. The tablet in the video was shown in a Honeycomb lock screen. Since both manufacturers have created Android Honeycomb tablets, are either Motorola or Samsung responsible for creating the device? It is also highly possible that this tablet was manufactured by another company other than the manufacturers mentioned above.
If this tablet is coming to Verizon, it would be a serious contender in the tablet market. With a quad-core processor and all the Honeycomb goodness, it is sure to better compete with the iPad 2 and the coming Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Is this Motorola’s answer to the pathetic sales performance of the current Xoom, which was surprisingly outperformed by RIM’s Blackberry Playbook?
If this isn’t the next generation Xoom, what is it? Better yet, who made the device? We’re pretty sure there will be more rumors floating around in the days to come. Hopefully, we’ll get to know more.
