LG Optimus Sol sports Ultra AMOLED touch screen

We all know how hard it is to view things on your phone’s display under direct sunlight. The Korean manufacturer LG has a new Android-powered smartphone that solves this problem. This is the E730 or the Optimus Sol.

This new smartphone sports a 3.8 inch Ultra AMOLED touch screen, which is designed to make it easier for users to view whatever they would like to see under direct sunlight.

Aside from better visibility under direct sunlight, the phone conserves battery life with a new interface. The new Dark interface reduces white light emitted on the display. This is said to prolong battery life by almost a third.

The LG Optimus Sol runs on Android’s smartphone-optimized OS Gingerbread. Under the hood will be a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 512 MB of RAM. It will come with 150 MB of internal storage and microSD support.

It will sport a 5 MP camera, stream media to compatible HDTVs via DLNA, and will come with Adobe Flash 10.1 support for better web browsing and video streaming.

The Gingerbread-powered LG Optimus Sol will be coming sometime in September. Get ready for enjoying viewing anything from videos, photos, and the web under the sun.

Video leaks the LG Optimus Sol

In a video, the LG Optimus Sol has been leaked. From the looks of the smartphone, it might compete in the mid-range market.

The video was seen on the German website Bestboyz. The video shows a phone with a 3.8 inch AMOLED touch screen and a 5 MP camera on the back. It will be available in black and silver variants.

Under the hood, the smartphone will sport a 1 GHz single-core processor. It will be powered by Android’s smartphone-optimized Gingerbread. It will come with LG’s UI, which a lot of users would like to do without. It is nothing compared to the HTC Sense UI, that’s for sure.

When you take a look at the Sol, it will remind you of the LG Optimus P970 Black. It wasn’t as appealing as other Android smartphones, but it proved to be a sound Android handset nonetheless. With this in mind, the Sol may not be as exciting as a Samsung Galaxy S2 or an HTC Sensation, but if you’re looking for a dependable mid-ranged handset, this might be the phone that you have been looking for.
