Samsung Blasts Back At Apple by Demanding It to Show Court Its Unreleased Devices

On a recent report, Apple is gunning for an injunction to prevent Samsung from distributing its latest line of smartphones and tablets. Allegedly, the Cupertino-based tech giant claims that the Korean technology mogul has infringed a number of its patents. The presiding San Jose Federal Court Judge, Lucy Koh, did not endorse Apple’s claims of trademark infringement, but recognized the need to examine the Korean manufacturer’s future products. Samsung blasts back at Apple by demanding that it shows the court its unreleased products such as next generation iPads and iPhones to compare if they bear any resemblance to Samsung’s unreleased products as well.

This is definitely an interesting move by Samsung. Why? Samsung has already made the public aware of what their future products will look like. Images, information, as well as specs of devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Tab 8.9 are have been officially announced by the Korean manufacturer. On the flipside, Apple is yet to release information on the iPhone 5/4S or the iPad 3. What’s the goal here? Both parties are gunning for injunctions that would prevent the sale of future devices.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past 10 years, you might not spot the difference between the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Apple iPad 2, the Samsung Galaxy Ace and the Apple iPhone 4, or the Samsung Galaxy S and the Apple iPhone 3G S. Honestly, you might not even spot the difference between any other handset. However, in today’s tech world, the technologically-uninformed are dwindling in numbers. In other words, consumers that are most likely to buy these devices know what they are looking for.

So what’s likely to take place here? Samsung has officially announced its future devices; Apple has not. If Apple’s future devices look strikingly similar to future devices made by Samsung, the tables will turn. It is Apple who might be facing trademark infringement charges.
