Nokia to launch handsets running Windows Phone 8 in September

According to Bloomberg’s source who is a “person with knowledge of the matter”, Nokia will be launching handsets powered by Microsoft’s new mobile operating system (Windows Phone 8) “as early as next month”. If this is true, then the Finnish firm plans to launch its new Windows Phone 8 handsets at around the same time Apple’s iPhone 5 is expected to launch.

The report coincides with another report that claims Nokia will be launching the Windows Phone 8-powered Lumia X, which sports a twisting 8-megapixel camera. The concept phone looks a bit bulky and veers away from the sleek design of current handsets such as the Lumia 900. There’s no way telling if this rumour is true or not.

Do you think Nokia will be launching its Windows Phone 8 handsets in September? Give us your thoughts.
