Are you eagerly on the lookout for the successor of the iPad 2? If this is the case, you might not have to wait very long. According to a new report, the iPad 3 will be unveiled on the 7th of March.
The news comes to us courtesy of iMore, a website dedicated to reporting Apple news. Its “reliable” sources claim to have inside information on the release date of the most highly anticipated tablet of 2012.
This new rumor is in line with AllThingsD’s claims that the iPad 3 will be officially unveiled by the Cupertino firm within the first week of March, which will be released approximately a week after.
The website also reaffirms that the iPad 3 will sport a retina display just like the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S. It also adds that the tablet will pack an A6 quad-core chip and 4G connectivity in areas around the world where 4G internet speeds are offered (which means not in the UK).
If these reports are true, this would mean that the iPad 3 would be unveiled at around the same time the iPad 2 was unveiled last year.
Do you believe Apple will unveil the iPad 3 on the 7th of March? Give us your thoughts.

According to reports, the Cupertino firm Apple is said to be scrambling to get apps ready for the launch of the iPad 2’s successor in March.
The news comes to courtesy of The Verge. According to their sources who wish to remain anonymous, Apple is said to be in “crunch mode” and is “working at ‘an increased rate”, making sure that it has apps for the next generation iPad, once it is officially unveiled. The apps are also to be used for Apple’s TV ads, promoting the iPad 3.
Apple is said to be focusing on apps with intense graphics. This lines up with AllThingsD’s report that the iPad 3 will sport a retina display, an enhanced GPU, and a more powerful processor. Other reports suggest that the next generation iPad will be named the iPad 2S instead of the iPad 3, just like the iPhone 4 and its successor the iPhone 4S.
If the report is true, Apple is said to be officially unveiling the tablet in its favorite venue, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Also, Tim Cook, Apple’s current CEO, will be taking center stage to unveil the new iPad.
AllThingsD was on the money when they predicted the iPad 2 was landing in March of 2011. Will they be on the money again with the iPad 3 (or iPad 2S)? Give us your thoughts.

According to BGR, the Apple iPad 2’s successor the iPad 3 will sport LTE options and pack the A6 quad-core chip under the hood.
The website has obtained a screenshot from a source that claims to have an iPad 3 prototype in his possession. The source also used iBoot, a debugging tool, which is used to gather details of the device.
Rumors of the iPad 3 packing a quad-core A6 chip are not new. If true, then this would make the iPad 3 the most powerful iOS-powered device in existence. Currently, the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 are the most powerful iOS devices with their dual-core A5 chip.
There are also rumors claiming that the next generation iPad will sport a retina display. Unfortunately, this report does mention if the iPad 3 will sport a display with higher resolution.
You may be wondering when we should expect the arrival of the iPad 3. According to a report from Japanese sources, the tablet could be launched sometime in February.
Is this rumor true? Of course, take this information with a pinch of salt since there’s no way to confirm the reports. We’ll just have to wait and see until February.
