Confirmed Samsung Galaxy S3 specs

Samsung has finally officially revealed the hotly anticipated Galaxy S3, which confirms a number of rumours about the Korean firm’s new flagship in the past.

At the event, the Galaxy S3 was confirmed to sport a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos processor.

Past reports claimed the S3 would sport a display ranging from 4.65 to 4.7 inches. Later reports claimed that the superphone would sport a 4.8-inch display. The unveiling confirms that the massive 4.8-inch Super AMOLED with 720p HD resolution.

The unveiling also revealed the superphone’s new design. Unlike the rectangular S2, the S3 sports a curved design like the Galaxy Nexus. The phone will be available in either white or blue, which confirms a previous Carphone Warehouse inventory leak.

Previous reports claimed that the S3 would sport a 12-megapixel camera. However, it launched sporting an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera instead.

It’s no surprise that the new flagship will ship running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with TouchWiz slapped on top.

Samsung claims the Galaxy S3 is the cream of the crop in the mobile arena. Samsung’s Andy Griffiths said, “Our aim with the Galaxy S III was to develop the best smartphone ever made, and by focusing on creating a unique user experience through superior hardware and enhanced usability we believe we have done just that. The device has been created by keeping in mind our daily needs and capabilities as human beings.”

The S3 will be available on the 30th of May. Sadly, no price was mentioned.

Eldar Murtazin claims to have a Samsung Galaxy S3 in his possession – says superphone will be available in April

The Android Community reports that mobile phone insider Eldar Murtazin claims to have gotten his hands on the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3. Murtazin has made this announcement on Twitter.

According to Murtazin, the Galaxy S3 will be officially unveiled at MWC 2012 and will be released in April. The Galaxy S2 was released in the market at around the same time in 2011.

Aside from having the much awaited smartphone in his possession and announcing its release date, Murtazin also leaked the smartphone’s specs. In a tweet, he said that the S3 would sport “HD resolution, 12 mpx camera, sw tweaks, android 4 – i like my new phone. Eager to see official announcement in Barcelona.”

Aside from a 12 megapixel camera and Ice Cream Sandwich, Murtazin also claims that the S3 packs a whopping 1.5 GHz quad-core processor under the hood. Wow! If true, we’re in for some serious multi-tasking and gaming. Hopefully, it has enough battery life to support this much power unlike the iPhone 4S.

Samsung Galaxy S3 coming in February sporting 720p 3D display?

According to ET News, a Korean website, via BGR, Samsung is to launch the successor of the Galaxy S2, the Samsung Galaxy S3, in February at MWC (Mobile World Congress).

If you thought the specs of the Galaxy S2 was impressive, wait till you hear the specs of the Galaxy S3. According to the reports, It will ship running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It packs a quad-core processor under the hood. It will sport a 3D 720p display.

3D handsets such as the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D haven’t really made a significant impact in the market. However, since the S2 was one of the most successful handsets to ever hit the market, a 3D-packing Galaxy S3 might just make 3D handsets a hit. On the flipside, it could also be a deterrent, which might make the series less popular.

Will the Galaxy S3 sport a 3D 720p display? Unfortunately, there’s no way to confirm these reports. However, since the S2 still remains to be one of the best-selling smartphones despite being in the market since April, we’re expecting the S3 to do the same.
