It’s official. The Samsung Galaxy S Advance will be coming to Europe in February. Sadly, we haven’t heard of the official UK release date, but we’re sure Samsung will be announcing its arrival in the UK soon.
Until Samsung gives word on the handset’s UK release date, here are the phone’s official specs. The Advance sports a 4 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Like the original Galaxy S, it comes with a 5 megapixel camera. It also comes with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. Sadly, the phone will ship running Gingerbread instead of Ice Cream Sandwich on the Galaxy Nexus.
Unlike the original Galaxy S, the Galaxy S Advance packs a 1 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 768 MB of RAM under the hood. It can support a 32 GB microSD card. It will be available in an 8 GB and 16 GB version.
The Galaxy S Advance look like the Galaxy S2’s little brother. It’s 123.2 mm in height, 63 mm in length, and 9.69 mm slim, compared to the 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm Galaxy S2. However, it sports a curved design like the Galaxy Nexus.

What’s this? Seen on a promotional video by Samsung at CES 2012 is a smartphone we have never seen before. Is this the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S3, the successor of the highly popular Galaxy S2?
The video shows the features on Samsung’s camera range. One of these features is making use of a phone to remotely capture an image on the camera. The phone shown on the video is something we have never seen before. It looks similar to the Galaxy S2, but sports a larger display.
Of course, take this information with a pinch of salt. The handset on the video looks more like a render rather than an actual handset. It’s possible the graphic artist modified an image of the Galaxy Note, altering the home button and removing the Samsung logo, to make it look like something we have never seen before.
Is this the Samsung Galaxy S3, or is this a phone made specifically for the video? Although there’s no way for us to confirm if this is the S3 or not, the upcoming handset is expected to be officially unveiled at MWC (Mobile World Congress) in February.

According to ET News, a Korean website, via BGR, Samsung is to launch the successor of the Galaxy S2, the Samsung Galaxy S3, in February at MWC (Mobile World Congress).
If you thought the specs of the Galaxy S2 was impressive, wait till you hear the specs of the Galaxy S3. According to the reports, It will ship running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It packs a quad-core processor under the hood. It will sport a 3D 720p display.
3D handsets such as the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D haven’t really made a significant impact in the market. However, since the S2 was one of the most successful handsets to ever hit the market, a 3D-packing Galaxy S3 might just make 3D handsets a hit. On the flipside, it could also be a deterrent, which might make the series less popular.
Will the Galaxy S3 sport a 3D 720p display? Unfortunately, there’s no way to confirm these reports. However, since the S2 still remains to be one of the best-selling smartphones despite being in the market since April, we’re expecting the S3 to do the same.
