Ice Cream Sandwich (Android version 4.0) is the latest iteration of Android. It will merge elements of the Android version 2.3 Gingerbread (smartphone-optimized) and the Android version 3.0 Honeycomb (tablet-optimized) together. New features include a photo editor and a new look, which reminds us of the movie Tron Legacy.
The website OLED-display discovered the pictures at a Japanese website ameblo.jp. According to OLED-display, Japanese network operator NTT Docomo has confirmed the release for the Galaxy Nexus for December of this year. Specs include a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED HD display (1280 x 720 pixels) and a TI OMAP4460 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.
The Google Nexus S’s successor is scheduled to be officially unveiled by both Google and Samsung tomorrow. It looks like NTT Docomo has just spilled the beans on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Are you excited to get to finally see the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or are you too enthralled with your new Apple iPhone 4S to care? Share your thoughts.

Larry Page, Google CEO, has been talking about their latest version of Android the Ice Cream Sandwich, which is scheduled to launch next week alongside the first ICS-powered Android flagship the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
At Google’s earnings call, Page expressed his excitement over their latest iteration of Android, which will be merging elements of their smartphone-optimized OS Gingerbread with elements of their tablet-optimized OS Honeycomb. The CEO also revealed that Android handset sales have now surpassed the 190 million mark.
The Android OS version 4.0 or the Ice Cream Sandwich’s main goal is to address fragmentation issues, due to the diversity of the hardware used by Android’s manufacturing partners.
The CEO said, “I’m super excited about the soon-to-be released new version of Android called Ice Cream Sandwich, that’s right, Ice Cream Sandwich.
“You won’t believe what we manage to get done in this release.”
At a tech expo in Hong Kong on the 19th of October, both Samsung and Google will launch the Nexus S’s successor the Galaxy Nexus, which will be powered by Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone is said to sport a whopping 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display. It is also said to rock a 1.2 or 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. This Android flagship is said to give the Apple iPhone 4S a run for its money.
Are you as excited as Google CEO Larry Page or maybe even more? Give us your thoughts.

The Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Samsung Galaxy Nexus is expected to be officially unveiled on October 19 in Hong Kong. Before the next generation Android flagship’s launch, it has surfaced on a Verizon US listing. It doesn’t confirm any specs, but it does point out that the smartphone will be called the Galaxy Nexus (previously called the Nexus Prime).
Although the screenshot of the inventory listing does not confirm the phone’s specs, here are the phone’s specs according to rumors. The phone will sport a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display offering a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is said to come with a 5 megapixel camera that can record HD videos in 1080p. It is said to come packed with either a 1.2 GHz or 1.5 GHz dual-core processor under the hood.
Since the Google Nexus S’ successor was spotted on Verizon US, it will support the network operator’s 4G network, which simply will not work on the UK’s 3G network. However, we’re almost a hundred percent certain that Samsung and Google will make a 3G version for the UK.
With these rumored specs and the Ice Cream Sandwich onboard, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is sure to be one of the biggest rivals of the Apple iPhone 4S. If want to see the official unveiling of the Galaxy Nexus on the 19th of October, the event kicks off at 10 am in Hong Kong (3 am in the UK). You can stream the event on Android’s YouTube channel.
