Blackberry Announced On Twitter and Facebook New Smartphone to Be Launched Today
On Blackberry’s official Twitter account and Facebook page, they announced that they would be launching a new smartphone today. It will be optimized for social networks and it will be running on the new Blackberry 7 OS.
With this big announcement, what new handset or refresh should we expect? It could be the Blackberry Storm 3. This smartphone will come packed with a 1.2 GHz single-core processor, 8 GB of built-in memory, and a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels on a 3.7 inch display, which will be the highest resolution ever on a Blackberry handset.
It is also a possibility that this new smartphone will be the refresh of the Blackberry Torch the Torch 2. Although the specs of the smartphone have not been officially released, we’re pretty sure it will sport a touch screen and a similar slide out QWERTY keyboard. RIM’s future flagship is rumored to come with a display with a resolution of 480 x 640 pixels, a 5 MP camera, and a 1.2 GHz single-core processor.
Another possibility is the Blackberry Curve Touch. This all-touch Blackberry handset will be a more affordable version of the Storm. It will come with a 3.3 inch touch screen, a 5 MP camera, and an 800 MHz single-core processor.
Are we to see one of these handsets, or does RIM have another smartphone in mind? Let us know what you think.
