15th of October is the launch date of the iPhone 5 says Orange’s parent company France Telecom
Stéphane Richard, France Telecom (owner of Orange) CEO, spoke to French reporters and accidentally announced that the Apple iPhone 5 would be coming on the 15th of October. If the slip of tongue is accurate, then expect the iOS 5-powered smartphone to arrive in the UK mid October.
Are there any legs to this rumor? Will the phone be arriving on the 15th of October? Well, if think about it, it does make sense. If you remember, there were reports that the AppleCare support team was told by upper management to expect an onslaught of calls on the 10th of October, since the iOS 5 was rolling out. This means that the iPhone 5 would soon follow. If we go back to the iPhone 4, the iOS 4 rolled out on the 21st of June in 2010. Soon after, the 4th generation iPhone was launched.
Currently, the rumors are conflicting. There were rumors that suggest a curved back and a larger display, possibly over 4 inches. However, rumors now suggest that the iPhone 5 would be a mirror image of the iPhone 4 when it came to the overall design.
Well, there you have it, a couple of conflicting reports pointing opposite ways. What do you think? What do you think the iPhone 5 will look like, and do you think the smartphone will be arriving on the 15th of October? Tell us what you think.
