BBM 6 Integrates Chat into Games and Apps
The BBM 6, the updated IM by RIM, integrates chat into apps. This latest version allows users to chat while running games or other apps. This will allow you to chat while playing games and even challenge friends to friendly competitions. Chatting is an in-app feature. This will allow you to chat without having to get out of the app you are running.
Another new feature includes Blackberry Messenger status updates on BBM-integrated apps. This means that you can boast achievements and high scores, which can be displayed on a special section of your BBM profile.
Chatting integration will be enjoyed on popular apps such as Huffington post, Wikitude, Foursquare, and a number of games. It is also possible to recommend apps to your friends, which will allow users to compete against each other.
RIM has been experiencing a number of problems lately. This new free Blackberry Messenger 6 service is highly popular among the ordinary consumer, which has quickly overtaken RIM’s long time supporters the business sector. These days, Blackberry smartphones are highly popular among youngsters.
RIM announced on May that there are now a whopping 43 million active Blackberry Messenger users on a global scale. 70% of these users chat on a daily basis, which totals to 100 billion messages sent every month.
This messaging service has proven to be so popular that Apple and Nokia have decided to follow suit and steal the idea. This will be a challenge since competing platforms have quickly gained the advantage over the BB OS.
The Blackberry Messenger 6 is now available for download on Blackberry’s App World.
