Beats music streaming to be a feature of the iPhone 5S?

It seems Apple is planning to integrate a music streaming service from Beats into the iPhone 5S, if a report is to be believed.Beats-By-Dr-Dre-Studio-Apple-Steve-Jobs-Final-Headphone-Black

The report comes to us via Reuters. According to the news site, “Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook met with Beats CEO Jimmy Iovine during a visit to Los Angeles in late February to find out more about Beats’ “Project Daisy”, a music subscription service the company announced in January but with scant detail, the sources said.

“Apple’s Internet products chief Eddy Cue, a key player in setting up its iTunes Music Store, also joined the meeting, at which Cook expressed interest in Daisy’s business model and its rollout plans, although the two did not discuss specifics of a deal, the sources said.

“The meeting between Cook and Iovine, who is also chairman of music company Interscope-Geffen-A&M, was “informational” and covered a broad range of music-related topics, the sources said.”

Of course, when Apple was asked about the rumoured new service for the next version of the iPhone, it “declined to comment”.

So why is Beats suddenly so interested in partnering up with Apple? According to the report, “The music recording industry has languished through more than a decade of declining revenues and sputtering growth. Industry sources say many of the largest companies are beginning to warm to the idea of collecting fees on music streamed over the Internet, as the use of smartphones and tablets explodes around the world.

“It remains a nascent market, dwarfed by music sales via outlets such as iTunes, but one that is attracting investment.

“The meeting between Apple and Iovine was set up in January, immediately after Beats announced Daisy without explaining the upcoming project’s business model or how it plans to differentiate itself from existing services such as Spotify and Pandora, one of the sources said.”

Do you think the iPhone 5S will sport Beats’ music streaming service? Let us know what you think through a comment below.

The HTC Sensation XE will sport Beats

HTC’s current flagship will be getting an upgrade with the Sensation XE. This new smartphone will sport Beats audio technology by Dr. Dre and other hardware upgrades.

This new powerhouse will sport Beats headphones. Like other Beats headsets in the market, the headphones that come with the HTC Sensation XE will deliver sound quality like none other. They come with cable remotes that allow users to control their music as well as answer calls through an onboard microphone.

Aside from the beat-heavy headphones, the Sensation XE will pack a more powerful dual-core processor under the hood. Compared to the Sensation’s 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, the XE will sport a 1.5 GHZ dual-core processor. The previous version offered unsurpassed performance. You can just imagine what the XE has to offer.

To accommodate this much power under the hood, the Sensation XE will sport a bigger battery. This is said to make the batteries last longer on this power-packed smartphone.

When it comes to appearance, the Sensation XE will be given a new paintjob. The smartphone will come with crimson-red accents, with a red Beats audio logo on the back of the device. Not only will the XE sport beefed up specs, it will get pimped up. Compared to the dull exterior of the previous Sensation, the new look does add a new flavor to the phone’s aesthetics.

The Sensation XE is expected to sport an 8 megapixel snapper just like its predecessor. Furthermore, it will be powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Can’t wait to get your hands on a Beats audio sporting HTC Sensation XE? According to the Taiwanese phone giant, the smartphone will be landing towards the end of September. We’ll keep you posted once we know more.

Special Edition HTC Sensation rumored to sport Beats

Rumor has it the Taiwanese phone giant HTC may be beefing up its current flagship the Sensation. According to reports, included in its spec sheet is Beats by Dr. Dre integration.

Rumors say the new Sensation will come packed with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. To prevent the extra clock speed from draining the batteries too fast, it will come with a 1,730 mAh battery instead of a 1,520 mAh battery on the original version. The upgrades do not end here. If you thought the 1 GB of internal storage wasn’t enough, HTC has increased it to 4 GB.

Aside from these upgrades to hardware, the smartphone will come with a surprise accessory. This is none other than headsets by Beats.

Everything else on the smartphone will be the same. It will still sport a 4.3 inch Super LCD touchscreen. It will still rock an 8 MP camera, which can record high-definition videos at 1080p. Lastly, it will be powered by Android’s smartphone-optimized operating system, Gingerbread.

If you’re wondering how much the smartphone will set you back, it will cost £520. This means you will be paying £80 more for the upgraded version of the Sensation.

Unfortunately, we have no idea when the upgraded Sensation will be landing in the UK. We’ll keep you posted once we know more.
