Samsung launching AMOLED Galaxy Tab?
Is Samsung planning to launch another version of the 7 inch Galaxy Tab? According to rumors, the Korean tech giant may be adding an AMOLED display to its first tablet. Since Samsung showed off a 7 inch OLED touch screen back earlier this March, is is safe to presume that they will be outfitting the original Tab with a more high-quality display?
Despite the rumor, Samsung is scheduled to launch a number of new devices within the year. This might prevent the launch of the 7 inch AMOLED Galaxy Tab.
They said, “Some media have been reporting that Samsung is preparing to launch nine new smartphones and two new tablet devices. While Samsung is continuously working on new devices for our customers, the details being cited are not accurate in this case.”
“We appreciate the interest in our upcoming mobile devices and will share more information once it’s available.”
This might put a stop to the rumor, but let’s take a look at the Galaxy Tab P62000’s spec sheet. It will be powered by Android’s tablet-optimized Honeycomb. It will sport a 7 inch Super AMOLED display with 1024 x 600 pixels of resolution. It will also have a 3 MP primary camera and a 2 MP secondary camera. It will come in a 3G version.
What’s really exciting about this rumored tablet is its processor. Rumor has it that the slate will come packed with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor under the hood just like that on the Samsung Galaxy S2. Furthermore, it will come with 1 GB of RAM for added performance.
Although Samsung released a statement that seems to quell the rumor, it still may be possible for the Korean tech giant to release this powerful 7 inch AMOLED tablet.
