The first photos of the rumoured Google Nexus 10 have been leaked on Friday by BriefMobile.
The 10-inch Nexus tablet is said to be Google’s answer to the iPad’s dominance in the tablet market.
After the Google Nexus 7 proved to be successful, Apple was bent on taking back the market shares it lost to the cheaper 7-inch tablet by launching the iPad mini on the 23rd of October. It seems Google has the same idea by unveiling the Google Nexus 10 to challenge the iPad. Google is expected to lift the lid on the Nexus 10 on the 29th of October.
The rumoured Google Nexus 10 is made by Samsung, according to the leaked photos. The device is also said to sport a 1.7GHz Exynos 5250 dual-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage.
It is also said to sport a 10.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. This would mean that the device’s screen would have a pixel count of 298.9ppi, which is higher compared to the 264ppi on the retina display of the iPad.
The photos also reveal that the device seems to be running Android 4.2, which is an updated version of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
The tablet in the photos also resembles the tablet seen in the leaked instruction manual of the Nexus 10.
The Google Nexus 10 is expected to be unveiled in Google’s event, which will be kicking off on the 29th of October. According to reports, the 10-inch tablet will not be the only device to be unveiled on the event.
Other devices include the LG Nexus 4, which is based on the specs of the LG Optimus G and the looks of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and the 32GB version of the Google Nexus 7 with 3G support.
All devices are said to run Android 4.2.

There were many who were almost at the edge of their seats when Apple unveiled the iPad mini and the new iPad refresh (iPad 4). Despite this, there are also a number of iPad owners who are peeved at Apple for launching the latest iPad. This is according to a new survey.
The survey was conducted by Toluna QuickSurveys. The survey firm polled 2,000 current iPad owners. 45% of these owners were annoyed Apple announced the iPad 4 too soon, when the iPad 3 (new iPad) was only launched this year in March.
Sadly, Toluna QuickSurveys failed to include in their survey the reason why current iPad owners are annoyed at the iPad 4. However, it seems the common consensus is that owners feel their iPad is now obsolete less than a year after it was launched.
The refresh of the new iPad sports the Lightning connector just like the iPhone 5 and supports EE’s 1800MHz 4G spectrum. It also packs the A6X processor. Apple claims that the chip is two times faster compared to the older iPad, which makes it the most powerful iOS device in the market.
Other specs include a 9.7-inch retina display with a resolution of 1536×2048 pixels, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.2-megapixel HD front-facing camera, which is more powerful compared to the previous 0.3-megapixle secondary camera.
Although the survey revealed that current iPad owners are peeved at the iPad 4, it does reveal that the iPad mini has been received more positively.
According to the survey, 14% are sure to get their hands on the device while 32% say that they would probably buy the device, which means that 46% are interested in getting the smaller iPad. 21% say they would get it as a gift.
Are you planning to get the iPad 4, or are you still pretty peeved Apple launched the device earlier than expected? Let us know though a comment on our Facebook page.
