If you use the Facebook Messenger app on your iPhone, you can call your friends for free within the app. Sadly, the service is not yet available for Android.Facebook-Messenger

The app allows you to chat away with your Facebook friends. However, if you would like to do more than just chat and hear a friend’s voice, you can hit the ‘I’ button and make a free voice call to one of your friends.

Sadly, there’s no option for conference calls. This means that you can only talk to one friend at a time. However, if ever your friend doesn’t answer, you can always leave a voicemail.

The service can be used via 3G, 4G, and even via Wi-Fi. This means that you don’t have to worry about going over your data allotment. However, you can only call a friend whose network operator hasn’t disabled the service.

Earlier during the year, free calls via the Facebook Messenger app have been available for American and Canadian iOS users. The good news is the service is now available for iOS users in the UK as well.

Have you now called a friend for free using the Facebook Messenger app on your iPhone? Let us know through a comment on our Facebook page.
