LG launched the Optimus G in August of 2012. It was then released in the US, Canada, Korea, and Japan. Sadly, it is yet to be released in other countries, until now that is.
Speaking to TechRadar, an LG spokesperson said, “The UK is included in Optimus G launching countries list.” However, with the LG Optimus G Pro confirmed for Japan, has the arrival of the Optimus G in other countries come too late?
It’s likely that the UK will not be getting the version of the Optimus G that is available in Korea. The Korean version sports a TV antenna and a 13-megapixel camera. The version that arrived in the US only sports an 8-megapixel camera. However, we’re quite sure the version coming to the UK will sport a 4.7-inch HD IPS screen, LTE support, NFC, and a quad-core processor. It is also expected to run at least Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
Meanwhile, LG is expected to officially launch the Optimus G Pro and the Optimus G2 at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2013 towards the end of February. So it’s rather strange LG decided to launch the Optimus G in other countries this late.
