Nexus 4 out of stock on Google Play – bids on eBay rise astronomically high

Due to the overwhelming demand for the Google Nexus 4, Google Play ran out of stock for the device in under 30 minutes it went on sale. Early birds who have successfully purchased the device are now offering the device on eBay. Bids are now rising at astronomical prices.

On eBay UK, bidding for the 8GB version of the new Nexus smartphone starts at £340. Google Play offered the smartphone for a mere £239.

A 16GB version of the Nexus 4 can be yours for £420. This doesn’t include the £8.75 postage. Another eBay user listed an 8GB version of the smartphone, with bids starting at a whopping £1,200.

Android fans were quick to grab the opportunity of owning the Nexus 4 via Google Play at a bargain price of £239. Despite sporting more powerful specs than the Samsung Galaxy S3, it is nearly half the price of the highly popular Korean tech giant flagship. Due its performance and affordability, it has been awarded the coveted Editor’s Choice award by CNET UK.

One eBay seller says that he or she doesn’t have the smartphone yet, but promises to make the phone available once it arrivers. The seller says, “This will be sent out WHEN IT HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO ME FROM THE PLAY STORE. Which should be November 15th.”

We advise you not to be tempted to get your hands on the Nexus 4 via eBay. Although Google Play is yet to announce that it has replenished its stock, we’re sure it will be available in due time at a bargain price.

Are you willing to spend an arm and a leg for the Google Nexus 4 on eBay, or would you rather wait for Google Play to replenish its supply? Share your thoughts through a comment on our Facebook page.
