It looks like Korean firm LG will be launching another quad-core mobile device other than the Optimus 4X HD and the Optimus Vu. It will be launching their new flagship the Optimus G soon.
In an official press release, LG revealed that their new flagship will sport Qualcomm’s first quad-core processor with LTE support (Snapdragon S4 Pro). Other specs include a 4.7-inch HD-IPS LCD with a resolution of 768×1280 pixels, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording at 30fps, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, 3G/LTE connectivity, and a 2100mAh battery.
Although Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) has debuted on the Google Nexus 7 and has rolled out to a few devices, the Optimus G will run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). We’re hoping Jelly Bean will roll out to the device soon after its release.
The Optimus G is set to launch in Korea in between the end of September and the start of October. Its global launch will soon follow towards the end of the year. Unfortunately, no price tag has been mentioned.
