Leaked photos spot NFC chip on iPhone 5

In a recent leaked photo of the iPhone 5’s components, an NFC (Near Field Communication) chip was spotted.

A photobucket user “meme_168” leaked the photos. The image reportedly shows an unassembled new iPhone.

The images also show that the device’s front-facing camera has been moved. It is now located above the earpiece. On the iPhone 4S, it was located on the side of the earpiece. In the location where the camera was once found is a new component that is believed to be an NFC chip.

Although there is nothing that on the snaps that say this is an NFC chip, it is consistent with the 5mm by 5mm square NFC chips available.

Do you think the iPhone 5 will sport an NFC chip? Give us your thoughts.
