DigiTimes’ sources claims Apple is redesigning the new iPad to prevent overheating. The redesigned version is said to be released towards the end of the year alongside the iPhone 5.
DigiTimes reports, “’The sources said the new iPad’s battery is being revised, which will help prevent overheating issues and could possibly make the device slightly lighter and thinner than previously designed. However, no comments were offered as to why the lens is being enlarged.”
Newspaper Apple Daily’s sources also say Apple will be releasing an upgraded version of the new iPad this summer. The report says that Apple will be shifting its panel supply from Samsung to Sharp. The panels supplied by Sharp will sport IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) panel technology. This would mean that the revamped tablet would sport a thinner profile and a longer battery life.
Of course, take this information with large doses of salt.
