According to BGR, back in December, the US ITC (International Trade Commission) ruled that HTC infringed Apple’s ‘data tapping’ patent. After the ruling, the Taiwanese firm promised to remove the feature, which got the ban lifted in May. Apple is now complaining that HTC deceived customs officials to make sure importations go through. The ITC rejected Apple’s request for an emergency ban of the HTC One X in the US.
Apple has also won an injunction on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Galaxy Nexus. The Korean tech giant is appealing the injunction. Samsung reckons the ruling was “made in error”. It adds, “The Court’s finding that Apple will suffer irreparable harm was based on legally insufficient evidence that Samsung and Apple are competitors.”
