Nokia promises to create cheaper Lumia handsets to rival Android

According to The Verge, Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, promised to create more budget Windows Phone handsets to “compete with Android aggressively”.

Elop said that his company is planning to create phones even cheaper than the Lumia 610, and that Nokia has devised “ways to go even further than we anticipated”.

Unlike the Lumia 710, the Nokia Lumia 610 is unable to run apps such as Angry Birds. However, people looking for budget phones may not be too concerned about not running apps. What is concerning is that by doing so, Nokia faces the same fragmentation like Android.
