The BBC reports that settlement talks between Samsung and Apple have begun. These talks could potentially put an end to the ongoing patent wars between the two.
Apple has accused Samsung of copying the iPhone and iPad with devices like the Galaxy S2 and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The two have waged legal battles against each other in countries around the world. To try and put an end to the animosity between the two, a US judge has ordered the companies’ head honchos to meet and talk.
Tim Cook will sit down and talk with Geesung Choi, Samsung’s digital media boss, and JK Shin, Samsung’s mobile division head.
Shin told Reuters, “There is still a big gap in the patent war with Apple, but we still have several negotiation options, including cross-licensing.”
