Apple has recently rolled out the iOS 5.1.1 update for its devices including the iPhone 4S and the new iPad. The update ranges from around 40MB to over 50MB, depending on the device. The update seems to be a minor update that includes enhancements and bug fixes.
The update will make capturing HDR images from the locked screen more reliable. On the iPad, the update will improve the way the devices switches from 2G to 3G networks. It will also fix issues with AirPlay video playback. It makes Safari bookmarks and syncing the Reading List more reliable. The update also includes a bug fix that addresses the “Unable to Purchase” alert even after making a successful transaction.
To download and install the update over the air, all you have to do is first go to ‘Settings’. Then go to ‘General’. Then go to ‘Software Update’. This will download and install the iOS 5.1.1 update to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
