According to Maeil Business, a Korean website, Samsung will be unveiling its S-Cloud service on the 3rd of May. This new service will launch alongside a new handset under the Galaxy series, which is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S3.
What is S-Cloud? This new service is essentially Samsung’s version of Apple’s iCloud. Apple’s iCloud was launched alongside the iPhone 4S in October of 2011. Samsung’s S-Cloud is expected to come with a number of new features. It is also expected to be offered at a lower price compared to iCloud.
The Verge says, “It is also expected to ship with access to popular TV shows, movies, and music with free and paid content that will be available across a range of Samsung devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.”
According to reports, Samsung’s new service will offer “more than 5 GB” of online storage. However, nothing was mentioned on how the Korean tech giant plans to set the price on higher storage. We’re hoping that Samsung sets the price of its cloud storing service cheaper than iCloud.
Maeil Business also claims that Samsung and Microsoft have partnered up, ensuring S-Cloud is available around the world.
Of course, there’s no way to confirm if these reports are true or not since Samsung is yet to announce anything official. We’ll just have to wait until the 3rd of May to confirm if S-Cloud exists or not.
