Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to be tweaked before launch

According to sources within the Korean tech giant Samsung, the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be different upon launch.

Speaking to The Verge, a Samsung spokesperson said that, although the Korean firm has been publicising the 10.1-inch version of the Galaxy Note, the company is yet to set a release date.

The 10.1-inch Galaxy Note was first featured in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Since its first appearance at the trade show, it has become one of the company’s main attractions, aside from the Galaxy S3, for this year. Despite this, according to Samsung’s spokesperson, the tablet is to be tweaked before its launch.

When the Galaxy Note 10.1 made its first appearance, it looked similar to the successor of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Since Samsung has faced legal battles upon legal battles against Apple over claims of copying the iPad, Samsung is likely making changes to the Galaxy Note 10.1 to further set it apart from the company’s Galaxy Tab series.

At Mobile World Congress, the Galaxy Note 10.1 sports a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. It is still not clear whether Samsung plans to redesign the tablet’s aesthetics or make changes to the device’s hardware.

We’ll keep you posted once we know more.
