It seems rumours surrounding the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3 are starting to pile up. Now, reports suggest that the successor of the highly popular Galaxy S2 will sport wireless charging.
The news comes to us via DDailysays, a Korean publication. According to their anonymous source, the Galaxy S3 will sport inductive charging. The source adds that the smartphone will be capable of charging without the use of any wires from a distance of one to two meters away from the charging base.
Inductive coupling is not new to mobile technology. There are various charging mats available in the market that can be outfitted on a wide range of handsets. However, if the report is true, this would mean you would no longer need to purchase the wireless charging mats separately. It’s certainly more convenient to just place your phone on a charging mat as opposed to plugging the phone to a charger.
Other rumours surrounding the Galaxy S3 is a NFC, an 1080p display, and Samsung’s quad-core Exynos 4412 chip, which is 26% faster compared to other chipsets and can conserve as much as 50% of battery life.
Of course, since there’s Samsung has not confirmed these rumours, with the exception of the Exynos 4412 chip, take this information with a pinch of salt.
