And what’s this? Case-Mate, a mobile phone case maker, has accidentally leaked pictures showing the back of the iPhone 5. The pictures show only the camera beside its flash, but were pulled out of the website as soon as it showed up.
Although the pictures didn’t reveal too much, it does show that the phone sports an aluminum back, which dispels rumors that the phone will be a mirror image of the iPhone 4 with its glass casing.
We’re not sure if the pictures showed the actual 5th generation iPhone or if the pictures were renders. However, it does show the phone’s new design. It did appear to have a slim profile and gradually decreasing edges. This was entirely different compared to the iPhone 4.
There are certainly a number of conflicting reports regarding the 5th generation iPhone. However, recent rumors do seem to be accurate. Initially, we heard that AppleCare was told to expect a surge of calls concerning the iOS 5 on the 10th of October. If we go back and base this on the release of the iOS 4, then expect the iPhone 5 to launch a few days later. After hearing AppleCare getting ready for the impending surge of calls, France Telecom (owner of Orange) CEO, Stéphane Richard, slipped that the smartphone would be landing on the 15th of October. Now, Case-Mate temporarily made pictures of the phone go live on its website.
With everything falling into place, it looks like we’ll be seeing the Apple iPhone 5 soon. Do you think these shots are the actual iPhone 5, or do you still think it will look like the iPhone 4. Give us your thoughts.
