If you’re an owner of a Sony Ericsson XPERIA smartphone, we’re happy to tell you that Sony’s video on-demand service Qriocity will be rolling out to XPERIA handsets starting on August. This means that you will get to enjoy movies on your XPERIA Arc, Neo, or Play.
On Sony Ericsson’s blog, the company announced that users will soon enjoy movies from Universal, Twentieth Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, and, of course, Sony Pictures. Users will get to enjoy the latest releases as well as an extensive range of past movies. This will be an added service to Sony’s Qriocity Music Unlimited app that allows users to stream music to their Sony Ericsson handsets.
This movie streaming service will be first available to the new XPERIA Mini, XPERIA Mini Pro, XPERIA Active, XPERIA Ray in countries such as the US, Germany, France, Japan, and, of course, the UK. It will roll out to past XPERIA smartphones via a software upgrade on a later date within the year. It will be available for download on the Android Market.
Since the new feature will be exclusive to Sony Ericsson handsets, it will definitely make this popular series more attractive. Now that the Qriocity video on-demand service is rolling out to Sony Ericsson, we’re hoping Google’s movie rental services will no longer be exclusive to US Android users.
